Holiday's icons

When you are on vacations time runs and days are ending quickly...

Unfortunatelly my vacations finished and i'm here back to work. But the point of this topic is to talk about my fantastic days i had in Creta. I stayed there 11 days and me and Eleni had a great time.

Most of the time spent at Chania where our cousin Dimitra accomodated us at her flat.Chania is a very beautiful city with ancient and modern monuments,the Venician Harbour,the Old Town and a traditional life which calls the visitor to live the spirit of the city. Its the third time i've visited Chania and still I'm excited with it. The people are frendly, the food is tastefull and of course i left back all my threats about diet life. Thanks to aunt Mantoula and Spyros, we ate Cretan pilafi twice and really was cooked perfectly.

A special place where we stayed three days was Loutro, at Sfakia. We took the ferry-boat from Sfakia and approached loutro after half an hour.The view was unique, the hotel room (thanks Dimitra)just perfect, the view magnificient. At loutro there are no cars, no bikes but local people and some tourists..lucky tourists! A place that recommended to romantic soules.

Highlights of the journey:

* Loutro village at Sfakia
* Oneday trip from Kalamaki(Moires) at: Herakleio - Hersonissos - Elounta - Aghios Nikolaos - Herakleio - Anogeia - Moni Arkadiou - Rethimno - Gewrgioupoli - Chania.Tired but saw new
and nice places - locations
* The home made Pilafi at Eleni's Grandfather home.
Full of taste and good company
* The fantastic beaches at Elafonisi, Falasairna and the swimming
in a small lagoon, close to Palaiohora(south creta)
* The sunset at Falasairna
* The one day cruise to Gramvousa and Ballos. Clear sea with
tropical waters.

Beside all the above, there are so many goods things we saw, lived and tasted in Creta. I brought some Raki(local drink) and of course some Graviera(local cheese) about 10kg for helping bringing in my memory the holidays in Chania (joking). I hope the photos help you to see how my holidays were.
