Easter - Orthodox Pasxa

I'm almost ready to depart, (me and thousands of other Athenians) visiting my village. Lugagges are ready and the weather seems will be fine. Sunny and sunny!
First going to Peloponissos and then at heroic Sterea, Roumeli. My Easter will be a classical, made in Roumeli Pasxa.

I'd like to say more but there is no time.
I wish you having a good time, enjoying the Easter and beware: Don't eat the whole lamp. Be well and drive carefully.

Pasta elections

Italian citizen vote for their new government and they vote Romano Pronti as a new Prime minister.Italy's centre-left leader Romano Prodi says he has won the right to become the country's prime minister following a narrow victory in the general election. From the other side, Silvio Berlusconi says his centre-right part is the winner and votes should be count again. A big story just started.Don't forget we had seen the same play in Florida, some years ago.

Latest results give Mr Prodi's bloc 49.8% against 49.7% for the ruling centre-right in the lower house. It's a small differnce and evethough Prodi's part won the elections, as journalists say, in Italy elections will be announced again in the near future.

Silvio seems very unhappy with the final results, evethough he knew from gallups that this time, the results would be balanced. Unfortunatelly for him and his part, he didn't manage to persuade italian to reelect him. The question now is, that Romano Pronti has to do many things and change alot in order to make Italy a powerful economic country, as Italy was some years ago. Issues such as unemployment, health system and even the italian troops at Iraq are some of the major issues the new government will face.

Besides all these, the elections results showed that in modern societies 2 are the main political parties in every country and because the differences between these 2 parts and the ideologial differences are too small, societies are split in two.
The aim of elections is to unify the society and not to divide it.

TV Personas

In modern societies, there are people who want to have an opinion for every issue. They want to talk about everything, eventhough for subjects which are uknown to them, who have no any idea about these. Most of them are lawers, politicians and people who have become famous through TV.All them,we can call as "TV Personas".Their home is the television studio.

They're very popular to journalists and they're invited quite often by them at their tv broadcastings. These "personas" can talk at the same time for issues such as religious affairs, Vodafone -secret services affair, about feminism, about television measurement and many, many others. For every kind of issue. They're present theirselves as specialists,as persons who are the only who can express an opinion. In fact most of them are care only about their image on TV audience and in most of times they cheat the audience.

Unforunatelly, people like seeing on TV screams and logomachy. And they know it and repeat the same behaviour every time they're on TV.Thus, please, bring new people, new faces, people who don't count theirselves as experts.
Besides, any Greek is an expert. We don't need more.

Reading...

Some hours ago i was in my home office and looking at the library i was trying to find a book to read. As usual, first of all i looked at my university books.Familiar to me and when i read some of them again and again memories come to my mind.Memories from my college ages. But that is not the point now. So, trying to discover something new i found by lack the nouvel of greek author Menis Koumantareas "H simoria tis arpas" ("Gang of Harp" in free translation). I've already read some pages and I'm impressed. I like it and i think i will finish it soon. I can't write a detailed critic but i like that the author talks about imigration and especially i like he mentions (at least at its first pages) and talks about classical music. As i can imagine from the book title, classical music is a "protagonist" of the story and classical music is one of my favourite.

I don't know whether i've told you, but i like reading a book during my way to office and back to home, when I'm at metro. The minutes at metro passes easier and make this short journey more enjoyable. As you understand for the next few days, the book has been chosen and i hope it will be as good as the first pages are.

The Mp3 plays Madeleine Peyroux. Goodnight...

Some facts of last weekend

We went for a coffe at Vouliagmeni on Saturday, Kostas & Ria (with their twins) came on Saturday evening. They stayed till midnight. On Sunday, the weather was sunny and we travelled to Chalkida, ate some fish-food next to sea side and then we took our coffe to a cafeteria at the main seaside pedestrian road of the city.
It was OK.I enjoyed this one day trip alot, something I needed.

As far the news of these two days, i was really impressed by the "opening ceremony" of the Church of "Theotokos Evangelism" which took place on Sunday morning at Alexandria, Egypt. It was very important for the Orthodox church and also for the greek society in Egypt. The president of the Greek democracy, the Patriarch of Konstantinoupolis, the Patriarch of Alexandria and many other persons from religious and political authorities were there. Thanks to Onassis fountation, the Church was rebuilt.

Alexandria used to have a big greek society but not any more.Time changes...
