Season's Greetings

Here we are again...Christma's period. I like this period and tomorrow i'll travel to Amaliada to pick up Eleni and on the following day we'll go to Agrinio for the Christma's day.

I will take a week of my work and be back on 2nd or 3rd of January. It's a good chance of relaxing and seeing people i love. Probably, we'll be in Athens on new year eve for first time in my life. Besides its the first time to celebrate it in our new flat and I'm sure we'll have a great time that day.

This period people buy presents to people they love. In my parents house, all the family on the new year eve are together and change presents to each other. It's something traditional and we all keep this tradition. Probabaly this year we won't be there...
I've already bought a present for Eleni and i hope she will love it, i can't even think the idea of not like it...

So, my friends, I wish all of you Merry Christma's and a very happy new year foy you and your family.

Charitos street party

Every year at Kolonaki in Athens, at Charitos street a party takes place. We go at this party almost every year and its a good chance of feeling the christma's spirit, although its the shopping side of the christma's.Anyway...

I went with Eleni, and it was very nice. There are some brands which hand out some of their products, as an advertisment to people, like chocolates, drinks, cafee, juice, mends, sweets. Especially, i will talk about a live making of a pastry. There were some people from Fresh(sweet pastry) and made some really tastfull candies with honey, yougurt and chocolate cream. They were fantastic, hot and was what i relly need that cold morning.Eleni asked for a caffe but she didn't like it at all...There was a Dj, playing nice christma's music and many many people. Kids, young couples, local and passing people.

After charitos we drunk a cap of caffe at Tsakalof str.Very crowded, besides saturday morning kolonaki is always full of people and then we walked down to Monastiraki station, passing fron Syntagma square and Ermou str.

On Sunday my big brother Iakovos came fron Xanthi (for buisness reasons) and met him and my other brother, Christos at a restaurant"Vaggelis" famous for its grilled pork.In our table there were 2 collegues of Iakovos work and after food we went for caffe at "Diskouros" at Psychiko. We talked alot and then all of us went to our flat and continued the conversation.

It was a busy, nice weekend.

Our Christma's tree

Last Thuesday, me and Eleni decorated our christma's tree. I'm fun of the christma's mood and i joy every moment this period. I alwayes remember, when i was a child the day of decorating the christm'as tree at my parents home.

But now, came the moment as a married to do the same in our home. Eleni was the responsible person of preparing everything. I let her choose the christma's jewerly, i choose the tree (2.10m high), the soundrack was christma's songs chosen by me (all christma's classic songs and some jazz). Eleni liked the red colour and our tree is green with red balls, stars and other similar things.

Of course, an important part is the lights and how they will look alike. The result is nice and we're happy with the lights and how the wink...Beside our tree, we decorated our balcony with lights and a lighten Santa claus.I think our home looks really nice and if you consider that most of our neighbours have done the same, the total result in neighborhood is briliant and..lighten.

So, let's joy the Christma's spirit!

Eleni's cold

Eleni called me 10 min ago and told she had caught a cold yesterday....
As i am her husband (a great honour) I must do my best in order to help her to overcome it.

It's a little cold today...so it's time to light the fireplace at home.
mmm...time for relaxing inside, cooking for her and time for big hugs.

Have a nice weekend my friends...

Olive trees

This period I'm really busy with the data analysis of e-metrics and there is no free time for many things to do. But, last Thursday i went to Amaliada(Eleni's birth place) in order to help my father in law to crop the olives. It's time for making our home made oil.

It was my first time i did such a thing and the experience was very good. Started on Friday ending on Sunday. Every morning at 7a.m till 5 p.m. I can tell you that its not an easy process to crop olives and experience is always helpfull. Beside me and my father in law, we had the help (paid help of course) of three other men - albanian ones. One of them was really good, the other was ok and the third tried to do his best but wasn't enough:)))

Any way, we made our olive oil for this year and the feeling is nice, knowing that this is made by our hands. The rantezvous now is at the same place next year.

Forgot to mention, this afternoom i will go to ERT.tv to make the reportaz for the results of e-metrics.It will be shown on national tv, at NEWS at 9p.m.Some of my friends already laughing for this... We'll see...
