Vacations are coming

One day left!

One day left for my holidays. Tommorow I'm traveling to Creta island at Chania and i hope to enjoy my vacations. My lovely wife will be with me and we're prepared to travel around the island. Of course, we'll spend most of the days at Chania but we'll find the time to see some of the other parts of Creta.

Chania for me and Eleni means alot and is the place where we got married one year before. Especially, these days we have 1 year as married and we're gonna celabrate it there. Our 1st anniversary!!!

I'm dreaming the nice beaches of Creta, the sunset at Falasairna beach and i have to go at Elafonnisi, Palaiohora, Knossos, maybe Siteia, of course at Moires(where my friends George, Dimitris and Markos live)and in many ,many other places. I'd like to visit also some of the villages of Creta like Anogeia, Omalos, and some of the other least known villages, where a traveler has the chance to meet and talk with the local people.

Now, i have to package my luggage and check the last details before the trip.
In two weeks, i hope to be ready to show you "my own view of Creta".

Season's reading

During the summer most of the people find a chance or time to read a book. In some point this is logical and explained. People like reading books because they travel, make dreams and behave like the heroes of the novel. Especially when the book is nice and the reader is excited with this, he become a part of the story and put himself in the place of protagonists.

Such a book, which i read this period, is the "Min pas pote monos sto taxidromio", of Stelios Kouloglou author. The purpose is not to advertise the book(besides its very popular). I have been reading this book for three weekends, because as a summer reader then i find time. Enjoy, sitting on the beach and reading. These days, i feel like being in moschow in 1989 when the wall in Berlin fallen and living all the events that schoked the world. It's a story of love, spy and daily living in Moschow. Almost 30 pages left to finish my "trip" to ex Soviet Union.
I hope to finish this book this weekend and then start the 3rd part of Nikos Themelis trilogy, called "Analampi"(The glance).

Reading is a passage to a new world and sometimes we live our lives again and again.

Window office view

Most of us spend at least 8 hours daily in the office. Some people work in a "dark room"(sounds horror) and other work in a place with better contitions, having a window and a view. Of course, this doesn't mean that they are in a better job or paid more.
As Einsten said " everything is relative'.
Speaking personally, my office is on the top of a skyscraper and the view is magnificent. When the sky is clear (rare phenomenon) i can see Aegina island and even the northeast coast of Pelopenessos. These look nice but most of the times seeing Athens from top is not the best thing. I have noticed that during winder the view is better, especially after a rain and also the view is nice early in the morning. But for me the best time to see Athens from top is during winder, between 5pm-6pm when the sky has a dark red-blue colour (I must add a photo).

The trip starts...

Hello dear friends.
Everyone has made a trip in his life. Sometimes was an easy one but most of the times the trip was hard. Trips which made by our imagination, trips which planned and remain in our minds and trips which done. At this topic we discuss about all these trips...our trips.Besides, our life is a trip and in every step we gain, in every moment we benefit and in every stop: we take some breaths to continue it.

When i was a child i liked cycling alot. It was my favourite subject. While my friends were seeing it as a game, for me cycling was an escapment, a way to see new places and meet new faces. I remember the routes i did and even now, when i pass across all these places memories are coming up and I meet all my childhood friends. Those trips were made during summer, schools were off, but in the winder i was planning which places i had to go. Of course, as a child i couldn't go away from my home and all routes were made close to my city, Agrinio. But, for a kid to go in a place 15 km away was something important. So many villages and so many icons. Cycling for me was a trip to uknown.
